Nia's Rescue Box

Ashamed of her newfound food insecurity, Nia leaves the local food rescue with an empty box. Afterward, when confronted with the reality of food waste, she reconsiders accepting help by embracing the power she already has within herself.

In this picture book illustrated in mixed media by a local artist with connections to Vindeket Foods (a food rescue in Colorado), children will see empowering ways they can step forward to change a broken food system to help the planet and others.

The author who has strong ties to the same rescue mentioned above includes a substantive author's note about the inspirational food rescue and where to learn more.
